"Radio Star" - Korean Movie Review

Original Name: 라디오 스타
Year: 2006
Rate: 4.0/5.0
What does the 2000s in Korea look like?
I lived in the countryside in the 2000s. This movie really reminds me of that time. The air, the town, and the people are really familiar. It seems like I saw some people like the ones in this movie back then. If you want to see what the 2000s in Korea looked like, this movie is the perfect one for you.
There is a fun scene that someone yells at people who don't walk on the left. We walk on the right these days, but we walked on the left before 2009.
Can you sacrifice your entire life for your star?
The main character's name is Gon Choi. He's a singer and won a prize for Best Singer that year. His manager is Minsu. Gon cannot do anything without Minsu. He always asks Minsu for anything, even cigrattes and stirring black bean sauce noodles with chopsticks. He pretends that he doesn't need Minsu, but he says what he really wants to say to Minsu at the end, through the radio.
Minsu has to be the breadwinner of his family, but he can't because of Gon. However, he really does his best to support Gon even though Gon looks down on him. Minsu's heart seems really beautiful in this movie.
Band 'No Brain'
One Korean indie band appears in this movie. They're 'No Brain.' Two songs below this paragraph are the ones they sing in this movie. The first one is their original song. I'd like you to listen to it because its lyrics are also good. The second song is the title song of this movie. In this movie, it appears as a song by Gon Choi.
The best last scene among all Korean movies
I think the last scene of this movie is the best among all Korean movies. There is a short video of this scene on YouTube, but I won't mention that video because you'll understand what that scene stands for only when you see the entire movie. The scene I'm talking about is the one with the umbrella. I'd like you to see this movie because of this scene.
